Thank you to all of you for your love and continuing support of the Aubrey Rose Foundation!
Can you believe it's the middle of July already! Time is just flying by and especially for us, our summer is going fast with the preparation for Hannah and her Mom coming in to town for her open-heart surgery. We are very excited about Hannah's surgery and know first-hand, what her family is going through. If all of you could say a prayer for a safe trip for Hannah and her Mom and also, for her Dad and sister remaining in the Philippines, that they have faith that everything will go well for Hannah's surgery - that's tough being separated!!!
For us, we're looking forward to going on vacation and taking some time out for rest and relaxation. It's amazing what a week away can do to replenish your energy and enthusiasm! Before we know it, Spencer will be going away to school next month for his sophomore year of college and Carly, believe it or not, will be a senior in college! They are getting older, but...Jerry and I are not!!!
We have some exciting things coming up with Aubrey's Foundation and we would love to have your involvement. Please feel free to join us and together, we can put smiles on the faces of many!
Love to you and your family!

McDonald Dinner on Saturday, July 26.
It's Time to Monkey Around" is our theme for this special dinner and we are inviting our new scholarship recipients and families along with Jerry's golfing buddies and their families to join us in preparing our delicious home cooked meal. This is going to be a swinging good time that will produce guaranteed smiles all around, and to top it off, will finish it off the monkeying around with with banana splits for dessert!
For the short time these families are with us for dinner, our goal is to rejuvenate them so that they can continue caring for their sick child!!!

Healing the World's Hearts - Hannah Surgery is Set
Hannah is coming next week and her surgery is set. As you may remember we had to postpone her surgery because they couldn't get passports on time. We had everything on hold until they get their passports. Please keep Hannah in your prayers. In August Hannah, will be operated on by Dr. Eghtesady at Cincinnati Children's Hospital. We're praying that Hannah's surgery will be very successful and she'll be able to sail through her recuperation time and be able to go back home to live a happy and healthy life!
Hannah is a
beautiful
4 yr. old girl from the Philippines who is suffering from Tetralogy
of
Fallot (TOF), a cardiac anomaly that refers to a combination of four
related heart defects that commonly occur together. The four defects
include Pulmonary
stenosis, Ventricular septal defect / VSD, Overriding aorta, and Right
ventricular hypertrophy. TOF affects about 5 out of every 10,000
births.
It is very treatable and about 95% of babies are repaired within the
first year of life instead of the 4th year of life.
Hannah has suffered through years of not being able to run and play like a normal child because of low oxygen. This is the same defect that Carly, our oldest, was born with. She was repaired 20 years ago on February 11 and is doing very well but could eventually need a valve replacement. 10 years previous to Carly’s repair, TOF kids did die from that defect, but in this day and age, it’s unacceptable that Hannah would die from this defect. Thanks to everyone's help she will not! I know it is just one child we are helping but it’s one child’s life we are saving!!!
The "Healing the World's Hearts" program was developed by Aubrey's Foundation with help from Cincinnati Children's Hospital doctors, surgeons and corporate support to provide "simple" heart procedures to sick children in the U.S. and developing countries around the world. We say "simple" heart procedures because these are surgeries which can be performed in the U.S. that can SAVE A CHILD'S LIFE letting them go back home to live a healthy and productive life without follow-up cardiac procedures.
