Our upcoming Holiday Party

We do this Holiday Party on December 18 for the right reasons - for the patients and their families
 - to make their Christmas the most memorable event of the season!

Aubrey's Foundation hosts a Holiday Party for the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit and Heart Center at Cincinnati Children's Hospital.  This is the most amazing event for the patients and their families because it's very difficult being in the hospital anytime of the year but especially around the holidays.  For two short hours, these families will forget that they are in the hospital.  We try to leave with them the best Christmas memories they can have.

We provide the families with a beautifully catered dinner, gifts, an awesome magic show by illusionist Phil Dalton and we also have mascots from the local teams to entertain everyone.

In the end, all we really have are your memories and your pictures and so our goal for this Holiday Party is to make this the most memorable event we can so that these families will have their time spent in the hospital for the holidays be a favorite memory for the rest of their lives!

Texas Roadhouse kindness comes shining through

Christmas Eve

Aubrey's Foundation is so blessed to have had Texas Roadhouse and their staff come into our lives.  The General Manager of Texas Roadhouse and his family go up to Children's Hospital every Christmas Eve to make the patients on the cancer floor feel special.  I feel like it is very important for you to know why they do this and why so many people support them and believe in what they are doing.  Below is their story...

Lance and Donna Walker's first child, Kayla, was diagnosed with stage 4 Neuroblastoma at the age of 6 months, 5 days prior to her first Christmas.  Kayla's first chemo treatment was on Christmas Eve.

As you can imagine, they were distraught with worry and had forgotten about their lay-away for Kayla for Christmas.  Since they forgot, the local store put all her toys back on the shelf and they lost their money they had put down.  When the nurses heard about what happened, they took a collection and went out and bought Kayla Christmas gifts so that she would have something to open.

As you can imagine, this act of kindness and goodwill really lifted their spirits and help them thru a difficult time in their lives.  That day they decided that they would return the favor to other families their their situation the next year.

They started with what they could do the next year with Donna baking cookies and brownies and Lance bought some small beanie babies for all the kids on the cancer floor on Christmas Eve.  This was just a small gesture but what they found was that most families just wanted to talk about how they fought through those first couple of days and wanted to know how Kayla was progressing.

Two years after her intial diagnosis, Kayla was cancer free!  But this did not stop them from visiting Childrne's Hospital every year, with each year getting bigger and better!  Last year they actaully saw previous people that they met during their Christmas Eve visits doing the same thing for other floors!

They raise their funds by asking for donations from all of their guests at Texas Roadhouse in Western Hills and the other three in the area; Milford, Hamilton and Ft. Wright.

Lasst year they raised $6,000 for the kids!!!  They were able to buy X-Boxes, DVD players, PSP Players, dolls, toys, teddy bears, etc for the kids and they bought over 40 DVD movies for the cancer floor!!!

They year their goal is to raise $10,000  They want to buy additional items for the cancer floor for the kids that visit there over the year, as well as buy for the kids the day their visit.

Lance and Donna and Texas Roadhouse thank you so much for taking the time to read this and they encourage everyone to give any type of donation they.  They year if you donate over $5, Texas Roadhouse will give them a free appetizer.

If all of Aubrey's Foundation supporters would take the time to send just a $1 or $2, we could help Lance & Donna and Texas Roadhouse achieve their goal.

Please feel free to stop in and give your donation that way or you're welcome to mail it to:

It's important for you to see how Aubrey's Foundation is affecting families...

Dear Nancy & Jerry,

Words can't express our gratitude for the gift you have provided for our family. We had been praying
and were searching for help. So this truly was an answer to our prayers. Thank you for helping others.
I stopped at a stop light yesterday and saw a woman needing help. I thought of Aubrey Rose and
reached in my purse to grad whatever money I had and gave it to her. Everytime I do somthing good
for someone else I will be thinking about your sweet Aubrey Rose.
