Spring is in the air (hopefully!!!)

We hope everyone is surviving this bitter cold winter and looking forward to what spring may bring.  In this newsletter you will find the different events we have planned for the springtime and also see what the Aubrey Rose Foundation has been doing this winter.

    HELP SAVE A CHILD'S LIFE

It's a great time to sport a "Dream, Believe, Achieve" bracelet. Purchase a glow-in-the-dark bracelet to benefit the Aubrey Rose Foundation's "Healing The World's Hearts" program. Proceeds from these bracelets will help Save A Child's Life! $5.00 each, includes shipping.  To purchase a bracelet, click here

    Are you a seamstress???

Aubrey's Foundation is looking for people who can sew.

For our Holiday Party for the Heart Center at Cincinnati Children's Hospital, we always try to come up with a unique gift that we can give the hospital.  With talking to the various nurses that help us with inviting the patients to this Party, we found out that they are in need of quilt type blankets that will fit on top of the beds to brighten the rooms and also the spirits of the children in the hospital.

If you would like to help us with this gift, please let us know.  You can go to any fabric store and buy pre-printed quilt shapes where all you have to do is put binding on the edges to finish the blankets.  It's basically straight sewing that hopefully will not take up too much of your time.

For more information and to volunteer for helping with this project, please email Nancy@aubreyrose.org and we can fill you in on the details of the size, etc.

Thanks for helping us with these accomplishments!

AUBREY'S FOUNDATION HAD OUR 6TH YEAR ANNIVERSARY ON FEBRUARY 10!!!

The Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, tax-exempt organization designated by the Internal Revenue Code. Our tax identification number is 91-2103451.  This Foundation was started 3 months to the date of Aubrey's death.  We know she is guiding and directing us from Heaven above to put smiles on the faces of many children and their families!

We would like to share with you some of our accomplishments that we've had in these 6th years and what we are doing with other organizations as well.

Here is a few things that Aubrey's Foundation has accomplished in our first six years in business:

    • Brought our first patient to Cincinnati Children's for our Healing the World's Hearts Program

    • In the first 5 years of Aubrey's Foundation, we have given $30,000 in grants to families who have a child with a life-threatening medical condition

    • In year 2006, we have given out $32,000 to families in grants to help them with medical bills - this is proof that as we had stated, as our Foundation grows, so will the amounts and numbers of grants that we give!!!

    • We host every year a themed dinner picnic for our Hopeful Hearts Support Group and also for the Heart Transplant patients, their families and the staff of the Heart Center at Cincinnnati Children's Hospital.

    • Have given out a total of 69 Scholarships and will be given out 25 more this year! These scholarships are for 8th graders going on to Catholic High School education. Our scholarships are based on and awarded to children who at a young age are giving back to the community.  We are hoping that this will instill values in these young children who are our upcoming adult citizens and future leaders.

    • Hosted our 6th Annual Holiday Party for the Heart Center at Cincinnati Children's Hospital

We cannot say thank you enough for helping us with all of these accomplishments.  It's because of your love and support that we are able to put smiles on the faces of many children and their families.

Here is a few things that Aubrey's Foundation has helped the American Heart Association with:

    • Support the Heart Ball
    • Support the Heart Mini Marathon-hosted the Aubrey's Angel's team for 10 years
    • Support the Go Red for Women campaign
    • Nancy is an active board member of the AHA

Things we have helped the Ronald McDonald House with:

    • Hosted themed dinner parties quarterly for 6 years now.  We have held 25 of these dinners to date!
    • Pop Tab Collector for the House
    • Jerry & Nancy have spoken on behalf of the Ronald McDonald House

Things we have helped Miracles for Life and LifeCenter with with:

    • Active proponent for organ donation
    • Helped both organizations with their on-going organ donor awareness campaigns
    • Jerry & Nancy are speakers on organ donation for both organizations
